MUSICAL REGISTRATION REQUESTED DONATION

All students are welcome to participate in the Kent Musical regardless of payment.  The payment link for donations will be sent out during audition week once we have received all registration materials.

The Kent musical is funded by KIK (Kentfield Schools Foundation), and in an effort to make the program sustainable we are asking for a $200.00 participation donation. This will help offset a portion of the costs to hire the professional Director/Choreographer, Musical Director, and tech team needed to provide a first-rate experience for the students. Donations also fund costumes, sets, props, lighting, sound, and other performance expenses. We are striving to be as inclusive as possible, which is why the fee is kept at an affordable rate and is not required to participate.

Please DONATE (CLICK HERE FOR PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS)  by FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 20th so that we may prepare the budget accordingly. Donation instructions will be sent after registration.

Students will be asked to sing a line and act out a line from the audition materials. A simple movement exercise will be taught and performed.

REHEARSALS

Students will go straight to the MP room after school and will have a short break  to eat prior to rehearsals. Please have your child bring a nut-free snack to enjoy before rehearsals.

Rehearsals will be held on Tuesdays 3:30-5:30pm and Wednesdays from 1:30-3:30pm. Your child may or may not be needed for every rehearsal depending on their role in the play.  Schedules will be provided on Monday September 8th along with the cast list. The schedule is designed with the understanding that your child may miss up to 2 rehearsals (unexcused) and that your child might need to miss other activities to adhere to the play commitment. Students who miss rehearsals on a regular basis not only miss out on important stage, movement and vocal instruction for themselves, causing confusion for them as well as for other students regarding each child’s placement on stage, vocal cues, etc.

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE:

Tuesdays 3:30-5:30pm & Wednesdays from 1:30pm-3:30pm, 9/9 – 11/12 in the KENT MP ROOM

PARENT VOLUNTEER REQUEST

The Kent Musical is only possible with the help of parent volunteers, which is why we are asking each parent to volunteer for at least 1 sign-up position. There are MANY fun ways to volunteer before or during the show either from home or at school. Some of the ways to be involved: Program design, communications, props, costumes, building sets, child supervision during performances and dress rehearsals, concession sales, backstage logistics, ushering, make-up/hair, and more.

If you are interested in a parent leadership position, please email kiktheater@gmail.com  We will be following up with parent volunteer sign-up forms after registration.
